Wednesday’s Race Report Update

The victory by Kurt Busch was a good thing, every win is a good thing.  For Steve Addington Sunday’s win was huge, a form of vindication.  In only the fourth race of the season Addington to Kurt Busch to victory lane, something he did a lot for the other Busch.  Addington was dismissed as crew chief for the other Busch because of a lack of consistency.  (Personally I didn’t think it was a crew chief problem, but a driver problem.)  Addington was hired by Penske Racing to replace the crew chief for Kurt Busch and the results have been pretty good.  Addington talks about the win on Sunday and what it meant to him on todays edition of The Race Report Update.

Tuesday’s Race Report Update

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

By Sam Atwell

Kurt Busch was in victory lane on Sunday in Atlanta for the first time this season.  He did have to survive a couple of restarts, but in Kurt’s mind there was one reason he won on Sunday.  Towards the tail end of last season Kurt Busch lost his crew chief.  After a prolonged search they decided on a guy who had been let go from the #18 team at Joe Gibbs Racing.  Steve Addington had been the crew chief for Kyle Busch and now he is with the older Busch brother and it is paying off in a hurry.  Kurt talks about his new crew chief on todays edition of The Race Report Update.

Monday’s Race Report Update

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

By Sam Atwell

Kurt Busch redeems his new crew chief on Sunday by picking up a win in the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Kurt’s new crew chief, Steve Addington, was the crew chief for Kyle Busch last season and was dismissed after a less than stellar season for the 18 team.  The move surprised a lot of people, but Kurt Busch was happy to have Addington on top of his pit box.  It didn’t take long for the new combo to pay off for Penske Racing.  To get the win Sunday Busch had to survive two green, white, checker finishes.  Get a wrap-up of all the racing action on today’s edition of The Race Report Update.
