Win One for Roush

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

By Sam Atwell

Rain, wrecks and pit strategy all combined to give Greg Biffle, Roush-Fenway Racing and Ford a trip to victory lane on Sunday in Pocono. Biffle took the lead after a couple of red flags for a wreck and rain, and then just checked out to pick up the victory.  The win was even more meaningful for Biffle because his owner, Jack Roush, was recovering from a plane crash earlier this week and was not at the track.   Tony Stewart was second, Carl Edwards third, Kevin Harvick fourth and Denny Hamlin was fifth.  Harvick maintained his point lead over second place Jeff Gordon, who finished sixth.

Thursday’s Race Report Update

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

By Sam Atwell

Last week I was very critical of Jack Roush for yet another crew chief change for the #17 team of Matt Kenseth.  My criticism stems from the multiple crew chief changes that have happened to all Roush-Fenway teams over the years.  I stand by the argument I made, but I must pull back some of my criticism.  The current change on top of the 17 pit box was asked for by the driver, Matt Kenseth.  In this case, if the driver asks, then in most cases it is a good decision.  Matt Kenseth talks about the reason he asked for the change on todays edition of The Race Report Update.
