Tuesday’s Race Report Update

Monday, November 30th, 2009

By Sam Atwell

With the off season upon us the task of evaluating the 2009 season has begun.  There are teams that met expectations, teams that exceeded expectations and teams that had miserable seasons.  Two teams that didn’t have high expectations were the #14 and #39 teams of Stewart-Haas Racing.  To say they exceeded their expectations would be right.  I didn’t set the bar very high for Tony Stewart, I was doubtful that he could handle the ownership responsibilities mixed with the driver responsibilities.  He did a superb job of both this season.  Now it is time to hear from the owner.  Tony Stewart talks about the performance of his teams on todays edition of The Race Report Update.

Nine times in his career he has finished in the top three and this year is the fifth time that Mark Martin has finished second in the points standing.  Even though he finished second to teammate Jimmie Johnson, Martin couldn’t be happier with how his year has gone.  Martin seemed like a brand new driver after moving to Hendrick Motorsports.  He had a tremendous season, so much so, that he has signed a contract extension to stay at Hendrick.  Martin talks about his success and his team on todays Race Report Update.

Thanksgiving Day Race Report Update

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

By Sam Atwell

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  What an awesome blessing we have today to take time to pause and give thanks.  Everyone is truly blessed to live in a country where we have the freedom to do as we choose, we choose how we live, where we work and who we worship.  This is a country that has been extremely blessed throughout its history.  We have challenges that face us, but given the America Spirit that resides in all of us we will overcome those challenges and will come out on the other side a better country.

So today as we stop to remember the things that we are thankful for also remember the men and women who serve in our military that have purchased our freedoms with their lives.  Even more so this year, remember those who have fallen on hard times and be willing to give of ourselves, our time and of our money to help a brother out.

Chad Knaus was in a thankful mood on Sunday night after his driver picked up his fourth consecutive Sprint Cup Championship.  Knaus talks about his driver and his team on todays edition of The Race Report Update.
