Monday’s Race Report Update

Monday, August 31st, 2009

By Steve Parker

Only two races remain before the Chase to the Cup.  As the Sprint Cup Series heads to Atlanta for the Labor Day Weekend there is a traffic jam near the bottom of the top tweleve.  The top six are in pretty good shape, but from seventh on back to 15th there is only 162 points separating the drivers.  Any of the teams in the bottom half of the Chase cannot afford a bad run in the next two weeks.  If they do there are three drivers waiting to take advantage of the mistake.  It is going to be a pretty awesome couple of weeks in the Sprint Cup series.  Get an in-depth look at the point standings on today’s edition of The Race Report Update.   http://www.racereportradio.com/broadcasts.php

Friday’s Race Report Update

Friday, August 28th, 2009

By Steve Parker

NASCAR decided, earlier this year, to add a little excitement to the Sprint Cup Series.  They added double file restarts, and it worked.  We have seen some exciting finishes so far this season.  The fans love it, some drivers don’t like it.  Carl Edwards agrees that it is great for the fans, but can be dicey for drivers.  On today’s Race Report Update Edwards says that the restarts will be a large factor in the Chase for the Cup.
